Mommy, what do you want to say?

This one is for all the mommies who have so much to say but with busy lives and scrunching timelines, they usually let the days scroll by them. And once, our children grow up, all we can say is - They grow up so fast. Today, why don't you pause and think if there is a moment that you want to jot down and share it to the world.

I am inviting mothers to share ANY experience or suggestion or tips that you want to write about.  Okay, yes, it's true that not everybody likes to write and not everybody think it's exciting to write a 500 word or more draft article. If you have something to say, write to me and we can work out something.

The beginning

It all began when I started to grow curious at the whole idea of having a human being grow inside my tummy. Initially, I thought it was insane to actually have a life grow inside you (never mind the glaring fact that this is how we have preceded along generations). Yet, I was equally fascinated and dumbfounded at the very idea of carrying a life inside my tummy for a whole nine months!!! Gee, who does that? Duh, I told myself, practically most women on earth. To beat the curiosity out of my head, I decided to take the plunge to see for myself and let the magic of nature work on me. Shortly enough, one early morning, I found myself staring at a stick with two faint pink lines that silently screamed ‘gal, you are pregnant’. I AM HAVING A BABY, I thought aloud as I tucked myself into bed after nodding at my husband who had been anxiously waiting for an answer. We decided to take things really slow, to actually let the news seep into our heads. Nah, that didn’t work for long...

Terrible twos – it happened to me!

It’s a Wednesday morning rush hour inside my house. After shoving my husband out of the door for work, my son and I gear up for the day. It’s the ‘library’ day which comes every week. We both love it because that’s where we get to stay away from each other and get our much deserved space. Or so I thought. Anyway, I throw the diaper bag over my shoulder as I scream to my toddler to wait for me outside the door (once they turn two, they simply CANNOT stay still). A few minutes later, we shove ourselves inside the car that has arrived for pick up. The UBER driver makes small talk with me, asking the same question I have answered a million times to different people – How old is he? I beam with a smile as I glance at my son who was once a tiny baby but with the miracle of time has converted himself into a wiggly- adorable toddler. I simply tell the lady, two. Is it fun? The lady from the driver seat probes me further. My instant answer is YES. It’s so much fun now after the init...

The “TOY” investment

After my obsession with clothing stores, I discovered my recent obsession when I stepped into a toy store. Within few minutes, my shopping cart was filled with toys which I fiercely believed will contribute to my toddler’s development and growth. I imagined my son playing with all the toys and claimed that he needed to have them, no matter what. Then my husband comes along and puts some sense into me telling that no kid needs so many toys to play with because we all know that kids get bored with toys eventually. I believed this for a long time but I recently realized this – “Toys are essential for babies and toddlers”. It’s the kind of toys that we provide them that matters. The “type” of toy and not the quantity matters. So, I carefully looked at my shopping cart and decided that toy companies would do anything to lure us into buying toys that our children may not need at all. Since a few months, I have researched across the web often and also read a lot of reviews on what kin...
